The Self-Assembly BenchPress
We developed the BenchPress as an upgrade to the portable AirPress bag system. It has made veneering and laminating easier than ever and has eliminated the problems associated with portable vacuum bag systems, in particular the tendency for the bag to get trapped under the laminates and the need for more than one person during set up.
Any workshop already using a portable bag system would benefit from the efficiency and ease of use that upgrading to the BenchPress gives them. However not every company can afford to purchase the BenchPress during these difficult financial times - until now!
To make the BenchPress affordable we have developed the Self-Assembly BenchPress. It comes in kit form with full instructions and parts to build your own vacuum membrane press. Just add a sheet of melamine face chipboard for the platen and you may want to build a support bench, assemble the kit and within a few hours you will have your own rubber membrane press.
The kit contains all the important crucial elements of the BenchPress: the three piece extruded aluminium membrane frame with the unique pivoting cam extrusion, for easy membrane fitting, complete with twin-walled, silicone gasket that functions like a massive vacuum cup to lock the frame down to the platen and a 2mm thick natural rubber membrane.
Also included are gas springs, hinges, handles and a valve assembly - everything you need at less than half the price of the standard BenchPress.
The standard Self Assembly BenchPress has a platen size of 2670 x 1470mm, giving a maximum pressing area of 2520 x 1320mm.
To run the Self-Assembly BenchPress, we recommend the fast and efficient 40m3/hr vacuum pump. Click here for more information.
