We wanted to ensure that the platen remains dimensionally true for flat panel veneering, that a high vacuum is achieved quickly when laminating curved panels to prevent pre-curing,
that there is no risk of trapped air and that the gasket is completely leak free. In addition,
we wanted to make it quick and easy to replace the rubber membrane when necessary
without the need for hundreds of screws and to be able to operate the vacuum press without having
to rely on cumbersome toggle clamps. To finish off we wanted to give the press an attractive
new look, setting the frame on castors to give it some mobility.
